It feels pretty amazing to hit publish today because this is my 1000th blog post! I started blogging in 2011 and have (fairly) consistently managed to blog each week since. To celebrate I want to have a little giveaway, to say thank you to everyone that reads and shares my sewing journey.
Thank you to all the people in blog land that inspire me, to the friends I have made - whether I have met you in real life or not! I also want to shout out to a couple of people that commented in my very first blog post, thank you so much Hadley, Vicki and Sarah!
I really enjoy having this blog as a diary of the things I've made, a reference of my progress and to look back at milestones, family days out and activities I've done with the kids - this one is a personal funny favourite!
To see how far I've come view all my finished quilts here, some of my favourite sewing projects here and for my free tutorials and patterns click here!
The quilting community is incredibly kind, supportive and encouraging. It is a large part of why I'm still sewing and I owe a lot of what I know to the fact that quilters share knowledge, tips and tutorials - whether it be on blogs or social media. I started out knowing very little but being able to reach out to people and ask questions, reading about projects and progress and lots and lots of practice has given me the confidence to proudly say I am a quilter.
In that time I have also amassed a lot of fabric! I have raided my stash and put together a bundle of blenders and a stack of scraps that would work in lots of projects to giveaway to two winners.
**GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED**
To win this useful blender bundle all you need to do is leave a comment on this post! If you're stuck for something to say then tell me what have you done 1000 times?
To win the mixed bundle of scraps hop over to my instagram, find this picture and follow the ways to enter!
The giveaways are open worldwide, please make sure I have a way to contact you (leave your email with the comment if you're not sure) and the winner will be chosen on Sunday 11th March.
THE WINNER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. Thank you to everyone that entered! Congratulations Teje!

1000 times? I've likely taken the dog out in the middle of the night 1000 times in the last year--he's an old boy, so we spend a lot of time together under the stars.
Thanks for all the effort and care you put into your posts. Looking forward to the next thousand visits.
Well, I guess I’ve been on walks with our dog Maggie 1000s of times - she has to go 2 x a day at least or she’s a real pest! Wish I had her energy and enthusiasm for everything! Love her dearly!
I'm impressed! Way to go, Lucy! It's good to remember how little things can add up to something big. I'm looking for a new job and thinking about some of the skills I should practice 1000 times. Oh, and maybe that would be a good goal for hand quilting...if I make 1000 stitches will it finally seem like I know what I'm doing?
Congratulations!! I really enjoy your blog, it is inspirational, my favourite parts are when I see your hand sewing. What have I done a thousand times? Probably love many years I have asked my children to tidy their rooms this many times, sadly the comments in return are not always uplifting, helpful, or supportive. x
Definitely had the unpicker out 1000 times, yes it’s definitely absolutely that!
Thanks Lucy for your blog and all your inspiration here and on SQ. keep up the great sewing and quilting and thanks for the chance to win some blenders.
Well done on 1000 blog posts! Something I’ve done 1000 times... only thing I can think of is changing nappies (been one of those days!!!) as my eldest is 6 and youngest is 4 months. Really looking forward to the days of no nappies!
Good for you to keep blogging. What a goal to accomplish. What have I done 1000 times. I have two feline owners going on 10 years now and I have kissed, hugged and brushed them everyday. I am sure that is over 1000 times but who is counting. :)

Congrats & thanks for offering up this great prize. 1000 times a week I 'lose' my car keys!!!!!!!
What an accomplishment! 1000 times? Probably thought about starting a project and procrastinated! ;)
Congratulations! It's a great job. 1000 times? All the days that I've tried to continuous my own blog, lost in cyberspace. Hahaha. My mail misdosbichillos@gmail.com
Yay, keep up the beautiful work! Likely the only thing I have done 1000 times is tell my daughter to clean her room before something decides to nest in it.
Congratulations Lucy! I’ve probably said I need to clean my sewing room 1000 times (or more, probably more) but then I get busy doing creative and and cleaning gets undone. Maybe someday?!? My husband always says I’m his favourite hoarder. (But it’s just in there ☺️)
1000 blog posts is an amazing achievement, congratulations! I remember when you were lacking the confidence to make a cushion and here you are teaching on telly - truly well deserved ♡ Here's to the next 1000 posts!!
Congrats on your 1000th post! I am not sure what I could make 1000 times unless eat and sleep ;)
Interesting to think of what we have done so many times. I'm sure I'm over 1000 on a number things -- cooking dinners, taking fitness classes, driving to the grocery store, making quilt blocks, etc. I haven't read all 1000 of your posts but I've read a bunch of them! Enjoyed them each time too, thanks for sharing!
Congratulations on your 1000 post! Layout changes - that's what I do a 1000 times. Each time I decide that's it, I walk away, and when I come back I have to make just one more change.
Congratulations Lucy! I love your work and your blog is one of those I have followed long time. Your posts are always enjoy to read and I'm happy we share the joy of hand quilting. I love blogging and my blog has always been important to me since I started about 7 years ago. Twice a week posts were always easy and often there were too many projects to include in one post. As you said I have also found blogging and quilting people amazing. So many dear friends, so often help and lots of fun. Since last summer I had to take place on the back row and were not able to blog. I am hoping that this brake will be soon over and I can take again the first seat with daily blogging routins. Because of all this I have posted over 1000 instagram photos. Thank you for a lovely giveaway!
1000 posts!! Congratulations, Lucy! I’m not sure when I first started reading your blog, but it’s been a joy to be a reader for these last years.
Congratulations on 1000 posts!! That’s a lot of writing 👍
Congratulations on reaching 1000 posts!!! Wow!! The one thing that came to mind about what I’ve done 1000 times is hand quilting stitches... not sure what size of a piece that would be... I might just do a quick calculation to see... maybe! Lol
Congratulations - 1000 posts is awesome. I have a long way to go to reach that milestone. I must have nagged my kids to clean their rooms at least 1000 times.
Wow Lucy, that's a fantastic achievement. I have probably asked my teen boys to shut the door when they enter the room a thousand times (born in a barn?)!!
Oooh that’s awesome! I’m new to sewing and seeing your demonstrations on Sewing Quarter have helped me immensely! So thank you! 😁 I can’t think of anything I’ve done 1000 times 🤔 Ive read well over 1000 books in the last 3 years though 😁
Congratulations - 1000 is impressive, your blog is fabulous!
Congratulations, what a milestone! Thanks for the chance to win :)
1000 times? Nothing as momentous as blogging. Well done! X
Congratulations on 1000 blog posts! May you have many more!
Let's see, I've probably sewn 1000 quilt blocks or parts of blocks by now!
Thanks for the fun give away!

Love your blog page. I’m excited to get started on my next project with your bundle. I’ll tag you in the finished quilt. Christdian at a o l dot c o m if I win. Ty!!!!!
Congratulations Lucy on your 1000th post. What have I done 1000 times?---Probably told my husband to turn down the TV. He is constantly turning it up too high. Thanks for the giveaway.
seems like I have unknowingly run out of bobbin thread at least 1000 times - you would think I'd of learned by now!
A few things I’ve done 1000 times....sworn at my machine, told my son “No”, used a seam ripper, said “I’m going to make that”, ate M&Ms....and so many more things. COngrats on 1000 posts!
Congratulations on writing 1000 posts...that's quite an accomplishment! I'd say I've hung up on spam callers about 1000 times. Or maybe it's more like 10,000 times. It especially irritates me when they now use local numbers and make me think it's someone I may know. Ack! Keep up the great work and I look forward to many more posts!
Congratulations on such a great milestone. I probably pull a 1000 weeds every week in my flower gardens during the summer.
Congratulations on 1,000 Posts!!! :) Awesome!! LOVE your Blog, and all the sharing & inspiration & fun!! Thank you! & thank you for chance to win your Give-a-way too!Ohio Hugs! :D
Many congratulations Lucy. Yours was one of the first blogs I found when I started to sew and I still love reading it :)
Congratulations! I have gotten up early to go to work more than 1000 times.
Congrats on your 1000 posts. I had to do some thinking on my answer to something I have done a thousand times and it was hard to pick. I guess the one I'm proud of the most is saying I love you to my kids and family over the years. My kids are grown now and quilting is the hobby I love the most and I am sure I have made 1000 stitches. At least. Lol. Thanks for the chance to win. I really need some fabric for my next quilt.
Reading that you had reached 1000 blog posts, many congratulations, encouraged me to look at my own total which is 1276, so that was a surprize. It takes time and effort to write regular blogs, and you have achieved this 1000 times - good on you indeed!!!
Congratulations on 1000 posts, I did get out the calculator to work this out but i have walked my boys to school over 1000 times sometimes a pleasure other times a chore but I wouldn’t change it. Best wishes
Oh that is a great milestone and I love to follow and read your posts! I look forward to many more! Hugs from Switzerland!
Love being inspired by your makes - thank you
Congratulations. I fell I have been mums taxi 1000 times !!
Congrats on the great milestone. I'm guess my 1000 times (that isn't telling the kids to do something, yet again) would be sewing EPP pieces together. It never seems like much at the time but boy they do add up when you arent' looking.
Wow 1000 posts, I'm impressed. I've probably said to the kids/cats/husband "If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times" well over a thousand times :D
1000 blogs is such an achievement, I'm only at 450 but it is so nice to look back and see what you have done. You are so inspiring!
Congratulations! Something I've done 1000 times? said "I should go to bed early tonight"!!
I've made at least 1000 cakes! 10,000 cookies! Congratulations! Lisamcgriff @ hotmail . Com
Lucy I’m not a blogger but certainly enjoy reading yours. Keep on writing and stitching of course. It’s your kindness that keeps me stitching up all kinds of goodness.

Time to go to work (and put the sewing down) feels if I said that a thousand times in my 38 years of nursing. Thank you for the chance to win. christatheron@yahoo.com
Hi Lucy,
A thousand times I told myself that I could not do it (Quilting) Then I watched your Sewing Quarter tutorials and made multiple blocks, made a couple of make up bags with the blocks and sold them on the our local cooperative Country Market.
This made me feel confident and GREAT☺ A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU LUCY
Rosie

dawn (dot) bulthuis (@) gmail (dot) com
I've loved following your career and especially enjoyed taking a class with you a few years ago. Well done on your success. Well deserved!

Professionally 1000 pain injections a month, early in my career, 1000 IV starts in the OR..so many th8ngs, so many times! Now that I’m retired, 1000 thanks that I was able to retire with my hubby, and 1000 times saying I can’t believe I’m at this point of my life already!
Congratulations on your 1000 blog! That's like the Arabian Nights and their storytelling, a great achievement. Now what I have done 1000 times .... taken the wrong turn when I am driving!
Congrats on 1000 times! What an accomplishment. Sometimes I think I have gone up and down my stairs 1000 times in a day!
nikilsend(at)outlook(dot)com

emyerly(at)outlook(dot)com
Congratulations! Something I have done 1000 times, used my seam ripper! Not nearly as fun as your blog.!
Congratulations on 1000 posts! That is truly an accomplishment!
Wow, that's a lot! Hmm...I've probably made 1,000 HSTs, probably...but I know I can say I've cooked dinner at least a thousand times, lol!
After raising children I am pretty sure I changed more then a 1000 diapers, made more then 1000 cookies, stayed up all night way more then a 1000 nights worrying about them. Imagine how big a quilt you would have if you made a 1000 blocks? Congratulations.
Congrats!!! Keep it up!
When I saw your post I was curious and checked my blog... and I was shocked 'cause I've published over 1000 posts! I guess that means more than 1000 times enjoying sewing 😄
Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway.
Congratulations!! <3
What have I done 1000 times? hmmmm Procrastinated? lol ... Cooked a meal ... Read a book? ... The school run ... Mixed paint ... Wiped a bum/changed a nappy? Some ok, some not very glamorous lol One day I might get to 1000 blog posts. Going to have to post more regularly tho if that's my aim :)
Congratulations on your achievement. I can only imagine hitting that number. Hoping you continue for another 1000.
Well congrats on 1000 posts!! I happen to be eating lunch right now, which is a cup of yogurt and six Ritz crackers. I'd be willing to bet that has been my lunch standard for at least a thousand lunches, if not more!
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

What have I done 1000 times? My husband would say...gone fabric shopping! ;D
Congrats on 1000! I have thought about blogging just haven’t done it. Love your blog, so much helpful information and inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win.
Hi Lucy,
My goodness - 1000 posts! Wowee! That is a fabulous accomplishment, and it looks like you have a ton of people following you on IG. I can not think of a single thing that I have done 1000 times other than get up for work, drive to work, eat, and maybe if I counted all the quilting projects in my lifetime. ~smile~ Roseanne
I’ve probably changed 1000 nappies or more in my ‘career’ as a mother. My children are 12,11,10,8,6,5,3,1 and I’m 32 weeks pregnant. That’s a lot of nappies! Congratulations on 1000 posts! That’s very inspiring!
Congrats to 1000 posts! Just a blogger knows how many energy but also fun that means... something I did 1000 times? I surely searched my seam ripper so often. This small thing always fells on places I never aspect...
Yours
Julia
Congratulations on 1000!
Thank you so much Lucy, you made my day! xxx Teje
