This is not my usual sort of finish. No fabric involved but it was something I have wanted to do for a while (don't worry there's some pretty fabric at the end of this post!). We have an area of our kitchen counter that gets used for dumping letters and various paper stuff and it drives me mad! I bought this from ebay in the hopes that I could start clearing off the counter and organise the paper clutter:
But I'm not a gardener and it's a bit twee for my liking so I broke out the paint and now have this:
Not a perfect job but much better. I'm thinking of hanging bull dog clips off those hooks so I can clip important notes or letters I need to respond to on there. Now I just have to get it hung up and hope it prevents the dumping ground!
If you would like a deal this weekend then head over to Green Fairy Quilts because they are having a massive sale with up to 50% off fat quarter bundles.
I love the dots from Riley Blake, they have a whole rainbow of gorgeous Robert Kaufman solids, as well as gorgeous prints from Moda, like this Paradiso by Kate Spain, and much more. Head over and check it out!
Have a fabulous and fun filled weekend everyone :)
linking up to finish it up friday at crazy mom quilts

good luck on the clutter front! I am still desperately trying to reduce my clutter... but it mounts up again!
i think i have you piles' cousin here....
Yes I have one of those piles in my kitchen too! Drives me nuts as well. Your new caddy looks lovely and fresh with the new coat of paint.
I love what you have done with this little caddy! I re-upholstered a chair recently! It's nice to try our hand at something new! Painting some simple furniture - a foot stool- is next on my list!
yes, we have those piles, even though we have a tray for post and a notice board! Love the make over though - I'm a gardener and I think it was a bit twee too!
Ah yes, the piles of shame, that then get moved to the bag of inactivity and finally perhaps filed away! This looks like a lovely solution, I hope it works!
good idea to re paint the holder. Sometimes I see great stuff in "the cheap shops" but they're a bit twee. A bit of altered art is always great.
Ohh what an amazing find and it looks great after the makeover! Clutter seems to have a plan take over the world ;)
