Best party .... (my) 70's themed 40th - we had a blast and I wore gold knee length platform boots!

Hmmm ... the best party I was at in the past year was my 40th bday party. Four friends and their husbands went out to dinner with me and my husband. We all have little kids, so the mere fact that everyone was able to convene at the same time and place was a minor miracle and great bday gift. : )
I haven't been to a party in a while. The last one I went to was a really fun baby shower. My kids are three now and it reminded me how sweet little babies are, how cute their clothes are, etc.

I just happen to find this blog, but for the few minutes I've been on it I've fallen in love. How do you enter the contest?
do I just write here? okay, here goes! :
I'm not really a party girl, I'm more into books, Art, learning and sewing. Though I'm not a party animal I have been to a few parties, The best in my opinion is the one that I attended at my church. We had a full week of nothing but block parties and white parties and blackout parties, it was fun to worship GOD and hang out with my family and friends (even though I mostly sat against the wall). I love to watch others party instead of being apart of one, It was really great though. I got to see the person I'm in love with and he watched me the whole time, I was really nervous (even for me) but I still managed to keep myself from squealing and giggling. there was cake and punch, we even had Christian rappers singing and everyone was handed glowsticks and free food. ( I love food! ) It was the greatest party this quiet girl has ever had in my entire life. nothing will ever compare, ever! : )
Congrats on 1000+ followers! That is cause for celebration, for sure!
The best party I've been to is my 50th birthday celebration. My friends decorated my front yard with bras and signs stating "We Support You", then we all went out to a Mexican restaurant for eats and Margaritas. It was the best!
I am happy to be a Bloglovin' follower of yours!

The best party I've been to (in recent memory) was a party for my husband's regiment (Canadian Military) where we (all of us at the party) had a private concert performed by Canadian rock band "Our Lady Peace". It was pretty awesome!

The best celebration party was from my daughter & her family. I was given the a gift of swimming with the dolphins! It was a complete surprise. Ever since I was young, I have loved watching them, seeing them in the ocean---They are such a delight.
It was a the neatest gift ever & a fun day for all.
Best party? My son's first birthday. We had everybody dress as gnomes.

Not sure it was the best but I had an unexpectedly good time at my friend's wedding on Thursday, although my feet have still not forgiven me for wearing unfeasible shoes
Oh dear my party answer disappeared into the ether. Here goes again.
Best party was a Royal Navy Christmas ball at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, UK, in the 1970's. My young husband had just 'passed out' from officer training and the navy used to put on some great events, culminating in this grand ball. I wore a beautiful gown, bought from C & A for £25- a fortune, and the magical setting on top of a hill overlooking the lovely River Dart made it a night to remember. Not to mention the wonderful food. I still have the dress although it is now too small. jennylarking@gmail.com
I stalk you all over the shop, It's quite an undertaking 😉
1000+ followers? Wow - congratulations!!! I'm not sure it counts as a party but it was brother's birthday last Saturday and Mam and I turned up at the place where he was having dinner (lunch!) with his wife and two daughters - the look of surprise on his face will be hard to beat!
P.S. Ears are fine, Archie's ears are fine (and doing the 'one up, one down' thing which I find very appealing) but the big question is, are F's ears okay?!

Fun questions! The best party I've been to is when we took the kids to medieval times for my oldest daughter's 9th birthday. The horses, knights, and sword fighting made it interesting!
Congrats, Lucy!
The best party I went to was on the 4th of July. We went to a friends house, hung out and ate lots of good food and great time. He had a cannon he made, which my husband enjoyed scaring us with. That this was loud!

Best party I ever went to was a Grateful Dead costume party - everyone chose an entertainer who had passed on, dressed as them and performed a song. I was Janice doing Piece of my Heart and won 3rd prize. It was a BIG party too.....

Well I'm not a big 'party' person, but the best most-recent one was for our daughter, put on by her good friends at our house... lots of laughter and we all set off chinese lanterns after dark [huge ones] in downright frigid weather conditions... it was a blast.

New years eve party at the pub quite a few years ago now, lots of locals, lots of laughs, lots of childish behavior! Great fancy dress outfits and some pretty rubbish ones too. emilyste7ens at gmail dot com
Best party? Has to be a close run thing between my wedding and my parents 60th wedding anniversary! cannot decide which!
and yes, you know I follow you!
My housemates and I had a Halloween party which was entirely pumpkin themed, pumpkin drinks, food, decorations. We had all made our own costumes. We had so much fun.
Congratulations Lucy! You know you are one of my favourite bloggers! Best party? Hmmm, probably the 70s party we had in university -- it's all about the blue eyeshadow, baby! ;) Thanks for the fab giveaway!
I follow you on bloglovin...and have you as one of my favs on my sidebar. :)
My ears are big but I can hear good so why complain!
The best party that I have been to lately was my brother's 50th birthday party. It was so heartwarming to hear all of the things that family an friends had to say about him. he deserved every minute of his "hour" to hear these words.

A person after my own heart, I buy chocolate for every birthday. We've been celebrating all month, Feb and March are our big birthday months 11 and 2 anniversaries. Thanks.
Congratulations on 1000 followers! I don't really like parties so this is a hard one, but my 11th birthday party was pretty good - we went to Hamsterley Forest and had loads of fun running round, exploring, splashing in streams and probably getting filthy and then came home to a huge strawberry and cream sponge cake that my mum had made.
My left ear is a bit blocked at the moment (and also a little odd, but you wouldn't notice unless I showed you). No chocolate I'm afraid - it doesn't last very long here! It's not 12 here just yet 😀

The best party I've ever been to is a toss up between a few. My dad and I used to have a Corned Beef and Scary Movie Party every St Patricks Day. The first 4 or 5 were all really fun and silly and festive. All the guests would get stuffed on good food and we'd watch bad (great) sci-fi or horror movies and laugh and get silly. We'd make black and tans and beer milkshakes. Those would be the best parties I've ever been to, with my dad and my friends. We don't have them any more... They just fizzled out.
Thanks!
Bringing in Y2K party! (you recall we were all in a panic at the turn of the century:)
Nothing happened and we all had too much food and too much fun doing all the preps and cleanup too.
Lucy I follow you on Bloglovin! Thank you so much for you constant humor on life, it always makes me laugh.

Hello. The best party I've ever been to was my mom and dad's 30th anniversary party. All those years together and still have so much love for each other! It was wonderful feeling to be a part of it.
Oh and both my ears are doing just fine thank you.
It's way past 12 now.
Do you like chocolate cake?
Thank you for the chance to win and good luck to all. Have a great day. :)
In answer to your son's questions, it's actually 12.20 right now. Funny you should ask about ears cos I've got a really bad earache at the moment.
Congrats on 1000 followers. I am one of them, through Bloglovin.
The best party I've ever been to? Hmm.. A mad hat party. That was fun. My ear is fine. In fact both of them are. It's past 12 here already and I'm afraid the last time I bought chocolate I ate it! They were fun questions, your son sounds like such a sweetie.
My 50th birthday party, last year. Loved it. Thank you for the chance.
I'm following you already, though through Feedly, I like that one better. ;)
Oh, my ear is fine and it's past noon, not past midnight. Did he prefer to ask which day? It'll always be your time + 1 hour for me. ;)
Anyway, best party... I've been to many, I love casual, not too preppy parties. The parties in a huge tent, with some good (live) music around a town "fair" were always good. Just like the parties in a tent somewhere in the pasture... Good party needs beer & friends or nice folks. And preferably no dress codes.
I'm actually working on hosting a party, hope that that'll be the best one. ;) Otherwise, I cannot pick really...
Its 1:50 but I wish it were 5 :) My favorite party would be my wedding reception, low key and surrounded by the people I love.
My friend's graduation party. Her folks rented a cotton candy machine. So much fun

Trying to think of the best prty I've ever been to... Hmmmm. I'm thinking the ice skating bonfire partis we used to have out in the lake when I was a teenager were up there in the top ten.
Of course I'm a follower. So glad we've met in person, even if was far to brief a meeting. I admire your wonderful posts about your children and their activities as well as your skill at making things. (Wish my girls still let me blog about them!)

Oh my gosh, the best party?! That's really hard to pick as there's normally been too much alcohol consumed at the same time! I would have to say when we had a houseful of mates, music that was just a smidge too loud and an awesome cook up the next morning!!!!!
The best party I have been to was our landlord's son's fifth birthday party...it was construction themed and they brought in a real crane and did activities with the boys using it!
I follow through google friend connect!
My ear is great--thanks for asking. :-) oh, and the best party I've been to was a friend's 50th bday. Great food, lots of old friends, and live music.

Best/funniest party would have to have be the 1st student fancy dress party at university many years ago. Everyone knows students love any excuse for a party. The theme was James Bond & those of us girls whom weren't really into fancy dress or didn't have much imagination were able to dress as random Bond girls, but the best outfit & funniest moment was 1 of the lads from next door dressed up as the black & white voodoo joker & covered himself in body paint (1 side black & 1 white) until it started to run everywhere & he then left little puddles of paint everywhere he'd been & covered loads of people in it too. The other best party was the 1st & only university prom for which I made a beautiful silk corset & skirt with a train which took months to hand sew & it rained so hard that night the field it was in became partly flooded & became like a mud festival but in high heels, but we didn't let it spoil our fun though. Sadly no amount of cleaning could rescue my outfit, so I recycled what I could & made it into a bag.

Best party I've been to? TG, here at the farm a couple years ago. Family flew in from all over, it was great! :)

I have been to 3 "best" parties in the last year - all of them with 5 of my dearest friends from when I was still working. Each time we meet we eat, drink & make merry - FUN!
I think the best was a new years party in an ice cave! I live in BC, Canada, and some guys i know work all winter to build a party ice cave. There were easily over a hundred people, the cave had tons of rooms, hallways, a DJ and dancefloor, lighting and christmas lights, and carpeting. and a huge bonfire outside. It was a magical experience.

My ear is fine, thank you :). I had a bunch of friends over to play games and eat food a month or so ago and that was so much fun.
Thanks for a great giveaway. I can't really remember the best party I went to so it probably involved a lot of alcohol, but I can tell you that my ear is NOT alright, it hurts.

Best party I've been to was my daughter's wedding reception. Outdoors at a farm on a windy October day. Bonfire, kids running around. The food was provided by a food truck that drove up and the dessert was pies of all kinds, baked by loving family members. Best party ever.

Ha! These questions are great! My favorite party *ever* was our wedding and reception. We second-lined with everyone down to the banks of the Mississippi River for the ceremony, then partied in magical warehouse with a swing hanging from the ceiling, and good food (and never ending drinks) and my family was there partying with all our crazy friends.

The best party I ever went to......a Halloween party where everyone wore 70's clothes and jammed to disco music
The best party I've ever been to was the party we had after Dave's and my 20th Anniversary Recommitment Ceremony. We had the ceremony on a beach on Maui when we were living there. Afterwards we had a byob & potluck at the park by the beach. Thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win!
The best party I have been to is hard to answer I think that each of my children's and both my grandkid's first birthday partys are all my favorites! Nothing more fun watching them see the wonder of their first gifts, cake, and people just for them!
Congrats on 1000+ you are very deserving! I enjoy reading your blog! My ears are fine. It is only 11:40pm here in the USA. If he would like some Hershey's for his birthday just let me know but he would have to share. I follow you all ways throughout social media!
My work Christmas parties are always epic. In 2013 we had it at the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich's modern art museum, and it was incredible. A private tour, great food, 300 drunk people, random stranger off the street crashing the party (figuratively and literally) = AWESOME.
And I follow on feedly :). Thanks for the giveaway!
Best party? The wedding receptions of my two older children would be the best parties I've ever attended. Close behind are the birthday parties my daughter plans for my granddaughters. Fun stuff!

My daughter's last birthday party. It was fun and didn't feel like work to put on.
Tie between my wedding reception and 50th birthday party. Great times had by all. Thanks for the chance.
Every Christmas I have a mother-daughter brunch and this year we were delighted to include a daughter in law to be and some baby girls. These are women I met when my children were babies. We raised our children together so to see them now as young women and new moms interacting was pure joy! We had the best time. Thanks for the great giveaway and thanks for a chance to reminisce about such a fun time.

The best party I've been to was when I got to go to a Halloween costume party at a millionaire's house in Atlanta,GA. The house was massive but historic so it had great architectural features. The theme of that party was Alice in Wonderland. The best part was trying to surreptitiously take a photo of my friend Tom standing behind Woody Harrelson.
