I feel like I'm working on a lot of stuff right now, not just quilty or sewing projects but my life and myself. Paying attention to what I want to do and what I need. Going through hard times and determined not to let them get the better of me - literally. Trying to not even make the most of things but make the best. I'm a work in progress too.
Anyway no time for philosophy, there's crafty work to be done and my mojo is gaining momentum. Here's what I've been up to...
I was very excited to see my Hanging Triangles Bag in Quilt Now (Issue 4) - this is my first published project and seeing myself in a magazine was all kinds of funny!! If anyone makes one I would absolutely love to see it!
This is the same as the buggy bag I made a while ago, and we use it everyday!
I totally have a thing for zip bags (or maybe quick finishes?!) because I knocked up a couple more using a couple of mini charm packs. One is Caroline Friendlander's Favorites, mixed with a little Best Day Ever by April Rosenthal, and this is already stuffed full of my stuff :)
I did simple straight line quilting because it just looks so clean and pretty
I used the rest of the Best Day Ever mini charms to make another little bag, fun and girly:
I've been cracking on with my le challenge project, obviously I chose cross stitch for the X theme...
but sadly it hasn't all gone well and, despite me usually recognising mistakes quickly or being able to fudge them, this time there was serious unpicking required:
I will press on though and hopefully get it finished in time for the le challenge link on November 15th. Oh and you must go and read the guest post by Mr X Stitch, very interesting read and it totally motivated me!
I treated myself to some cute little bow earrings this week, from BK & JIO. Quick delivery and super sweet packaging. If you're looking for gifts, they have a gorgeous selection - perfect for all ages and you can get 15% off orders over $20 until 14th November using code HOLIDAY2014. (Not sponsored in any way just sharing the joy because I love the earrings I bought!)
And finally, since it's the half term holidays here, most of my time is being spent doing stuff like this:
Fun and games!

You sound as if you are on a bit of a treadmill at the moment. Enjoy the half term break with your lovely children. I saw your pretty pouch in the mag and have earmarked it for after Christmas as I have too many projects on the go and need to finish a few to clear my head. Take care of yourself and see you on Nov. 20th for the class.
Here's to taking care of yourself! Congrats on the publication!
Aww, hang in there *hug*. You are so right about each of us being a Work in Progress... Congratulations on getting a project published - that is really neat! And you look so cute (the bow earrings are nice, too). :)
Congratulations on being published!!! I enjoyed that post by Mr. X Stitch, especially the part where he makes a distinction between hobby, craft and art. He put words to something I've often thought about myself.
Yes, enjoy those Kiddie days! In 10 years time they will be in the past... Keep your chin up, love...Things will get better... Hugs
Congratulations on your pattern being in a magazine! It's fun to see so many different versions. I hope things settle down for you soon.
Take care xxx
What wonderfully delightful little bags! Very well done, and in a magazine to boot!!
I saw you in the magazine- how exciting! I love your own version of the bag. Enjoy the rest of half term.

I love your Hanging Triangles zip bag! Do you offer a pattern for it? Other than taking out a magazine subscription.
Congrats on the pattern! You're a lovely work in progress. Glad you're taking time for you.
I can relate so well to what you are writing; are we going through the same things? Hugs and chin up dear!
Fun bags. I especially like that string handle.
I love the blue, green and gray fabrics and stitching! Congratulations!
Oh dear, unpicking cross stitch must be maddening! I love the colorful, girly pouch zip bag. Wish I liked making stuff like that but I can oohh and aahh over your photos at least! Happy Halloween!
always remember to be gentle on yourself, sweetie x
Love the pouches - I need to make some, like right now... Hopefully this week? Maybe I could turn it into a x themed project?
Finally reading blogs after a months-long break and I just wanted you to know that I think you are amazing. Don't know what you are going through, but I am thinking of you and hoping you realize how special you are! Oh, and the pic with the bow earrings--so cute!!
Congrats on the publication :o) I'm just at the beginning of the 'looking after me' journey, hope you're doing well on yours.
You look so young in the selfie! Early 20s. Hope everything is ok? I know how difficult it is to go through times of feeling low. Thinking of you xx
