There are some fabrics too pretty to throw away even the smallest scraps...
I keep a needle in a separate case for sewing through paper/card on my machine and it's so easy to do! I will definitely make more. Quick, colourful and fun to make!
I am doing some EPP with these Cotton and Steel basics (available here) and couldn't bin those little triangles so I made some cards. I created rectangles by positioning the triangles together, then used a dot of glue to stick the fabric down and stitched a simple rectangle just inside the shape. I didn't worry when the triangles were slightly different sizes, I think having the little points stick out looks quite cool.

What a great idea! So pretty.
What type of needle do you use to sew through paper / card? I have a book out of the library right now that has some pretty patterns for doing that, but I can't find where it says what type / size of needle.
Very cute and useful too!
I chose fabric by color first then the design. Thanks for the giveaway.
I think I may do this and whip up a ton of thank you cards this way. I have WAY too many pretty bits to throw away.
I love cards made from scraps, Lucy! Yours are so pretty.
nice cards :) I love how the scalloped edges complement the straight lines of the fabric triangles
These are brilliant - perfect for quilty friends!
Great idea!
So cute!
Love those cards! Thank you for the inspiration! I am always looking for ideas for gifts for my co-workers.
Ooooh! I love these little cards. I have lots of tiny bits too small for stitching - this would be the perfect way to use them.
fab idea! i would have to do something similar with such cute 'scraps'!
I think mine is a denim needle but I'm pretty sure you could use any universal needle or whatever you happen to have!
Clever Lucy!
They are lovely.... Never throw anything away....it might come in useful...one day!
Looks great! what a fab idea :)
These are great! Love it! I tried to glue some fabrics to card but I didn't like it, this is much better.
Those scraps are just so pretty, perfect way to rescue them!
My mom lives in another state and dementia is grabbing hold of her. She loves getting mail, was thinking I could sew things onto blank notecards to send her. Your post has encouraged me to do that.
