My feet are warm and snug in log cabin slippers, it's like having a little quilt for your toes! I used Ayumi's clever pattern from Stitch Magazine (Summer 2011). You can get a PDF of the pattern here. I'm a UK size 7 and have quite wide feet, I made the large size and there's a little room for wiggling my toes so feel super comfy.
I used the most beautiful Nani Iro binding from Miss Matatabi, which inspired my colours for the log cabins. For the soles I used Slipper Gripper, which I thought might be hideous to quilt through but my walking foot dealt with it no problem.
I picked out some of my favourite fabrics, in colours I love and those little Denyse Schmidt flowers in the centre make me smile.
Happy feet.

Leave it to a quilter to make quilted slippers! Love your colour choices!
I love these slippers! Even the bottoms of them are adorable! Great binding choice too.
They really do look cozy and they are so adorable! Nice job! Loving the ink on the foot too. :-)
I'm not a slipper wearer, but these slippers are so cute I might just have to change my ways! Adorable!
super cute!
Love it! My "spuds" (house shoes that look like my feet are sunk into baked potatoes) are falling apart, so maybe I need to book mark this pattern for reference!
They look fantastic Lucy!! I love the fabric you chose, and it looks like your slipper gripper stuff handled going through the machine a bit better than mine.
Oh my goodness those slippers are ADORABLE!
They are really cool! Looks like a fun make and they'd be a fantastic present for a quilter!
yay for wearing patchwork! I love that the center patch of each logcabin block is a diffeent colorway of the same print :)
I love the slippers! So cute!
Love your slippers, so cozy and happy looking. Perfection for sure.
Yay, cute and cozy. Enjoy!
I love these!!!
These are brilliant, Lucy! I LOVE them :)
I love them! I have this pattern too, but haven't attempted yet. :) they are awesome!
I am very impressed!
Oooh, yes toes would be deliciously cozy in those slippers! Nicely done, Lucy!
They are the coolest slippers!! Are you going to make pairs for the whole family?
Theses are so cute - I need to make myself a pair for winter!
I LOVE your slippers! This style of slipper is just what I was looking for. Are they fairly easy to make? Would you make them again?
Lucy! These are so cute! I tried a pair a couple of years ago and did not have much luck....not Ayumi's pattern though. I need to find that! They are just adorable!
These are so great Lucy. You did a great job
Oooh my those are fabulous. 2 degrees here at night and no central heating so I'm sticking with my ugg boots though!
I made these for my sis a couple of years ago but they didn't turn out as pretty as yours and I struggled with the slipper gripper stuff.
What gorgeous slippers. I already have plenty for myself but I think a few pairs of these would be so handy to have as guest slippers.
Just catching up on the last week:
LOL at the fabric fishing expedition, I feel like throwing fabric over my head sometimes too, and love the slippers.
PS, your link to the slipper gripper doesn't work try http://www.plushaddict.co.uk/all-fabric/specialist-fabrics.html
Love, love, love - Chris :D
Your slippers are fabulous! Thanks for the link to the PDF pattern.
Love the colour scheme on these and definitely need to get some of that nani iro binding..wow!
LOVE your quilted slippers, Lucy!!!
They are gorgeous Lucy!
Can you go into large scale production please? I think we would all love a pair!
They look like oven mitts for your feet. But I bet they're warm.
They fit better than oven mitts too!
Those are truly the most beautiful slippers I've ever seen! You need to have a pair of slippers for your pair of slippers so you don't spill tea on them or get them dirty!
WOW! Don't they look fab? What a super idea - love the little Slipper Gripper, too. Way cute.
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!! I just screamed out loud (in a good way) LOL! Love these so much-well done you!!
What an awesome project
Truly the most beautiful slippers I've ever seen! interlocking cabins
Absolutely love these - I must get some slipper gripper
Love your quilted slipper - when I went to the site for the pattern, the site was not available
How can I get the pattern as I have wide feet and this pattern looks like it would work for me
Joan
Hello Joan, Unfortunately it seems the pattern has been taken down. I think the only way to get it now would be to find a copy of the magazine it was published in or you could try contacting the pattern designer to enquire. If it does become available I will update the link. The pattern does work well for wide feet!
