I may have had a couple of little splurges recently. I couldn't resist these beauties from Hawthorne Threads, some were needed for projects and commissions but the rest just fell into that online basket ;)
Cats Cradle in Raspberry, Catnap by Lizzy House; Buttons in Ivory, Home Grown by Maia Ferrell; Butterflies in Cream, Birds of a Feather by Allison Cole; Merry Scallop in Pink, A Merry Little Christmas by Zoe Pearn; Hana Dots in Sweet, Hello Tokyo by Lisa Tilse
Then I just had to get some more delicious double gauze from Miss Matatabi, I have the second print in another colourway already but I'm so glad I got this one too - it's hard to see but the white floral bits are metallic and how could I not have those metallic dots too?! The binding is for a project I will get to one day and again it's a gorgeous print with fabulous colours!
Pocho by Nani Iro (this colourway seems to be sold out but there's other Pocho prints available); Joy Flower by Nani Iro and Nani Iro Mountain View bias tape. I'm excited to work with these lovelies!
When I was in work yesterday I picked up a couple of much needed notions, I'm working on my English Country Garden BOM and realised Kerry is right and it will go together much faster if I glue! I've resisted a glue pen thus far but I think it will be more convenient and I do want to try and keep up (not even finished my first block yet so not doing too well!). I may even use it for EPP (argh!! That feels like sacrilege - I'm not quilt police or anything but I really do like basting with thread), at this point though I'm feeling the need for speed. I got a water soluble pen too because my other one ran out. I'm still loving my frixion pen but it's nice to have options!
Now I'm finally on IG I can enter all the fun giveaways and I won this gorgeous teatowel from Poppy Treffry. Sorry it's all creased, I couldn't help whipping it out and snapping it right away! It's great quality and I love that fun print. Thank you!

That's an amazing lot of prizes!
It's been a great week because I was utterly thrilled to learn I was nominated in the Viewer's Choice category of the Blogger's Quilt Festival. I'm in incredibly talented company and it's such an honour. They are all amazing quilts. I'm so grateful to my fabulous bee mates for their work in making feathers for my 'Bees of a Feather' quilt and although I am obviously completely in love with it and value every inch of it, it is rewarding knowing others see the beauty in it too. Thank you to everyone who voted! You can vote in the Viewer's Choice category here and I entered it in the Hand Quilted Category, which you can vote for here. Ta x
Have a great bank holiday Monday!

Lucky you! (Beautiful fabric stashing and prize!)
I am also in ig as "happy is" I've started to follow you! Will you be making it to the fat quarterly retreat this year? I wasn't going to but got a new job so have treated myself now we have a bit more money coming in!
I want to go fabric shopping now!! Are you enjoying IG ? Thats a great tea towel. Congratulations on being nominated for a viewers choice!
Look at that Nani Iro bias tape, gorgeous! Congratulations for your feather quilt!
Okay - that tea towel is awesome! Must be tempting to put it as a panel in a quilt, though. :-) Love that Nani Iro tape... I have a frixion pen that I use for marking (if the marking happens in the seam allowance - and only if) but that clover blue water-erasable is the greatest. Too bad it doesn't work on darks, eh?
And congrats on the quilt, but if I'm honest, I'm not surprised in the least!! :-)
beautiful new fabrics. I am intrigued what you will use the double gauze for? It is all so pretty.
Yey yey glue pen!! I love me a glue pen, I must use at least two refills a week when I have my applique on. I have a lovely neon yellow colour in mine right now.
Don't worry about falling behind, as long as you're getting the downloads whilst they're free. Is now a good time to reveal I haven't designed the block for next monday yet, let alone made it?!?! ARGGHH
Here's to splurges (I had a little splurge at Hawthorne Threads last night) and to giveaways although I never win! I know - too sad ;-) Perhaps I should actually enter them! Enjoy your pretties.
Lovely buys Lucy. I have been over and voted for the feathers quilt. Good luck!
Woo hoo! Congrats on the nomination! I love that quilt, Lucy! I decided to have my Bee do those feathers too because I love them so much!
Congratulations! Well deserved :-)
Glue and fabric... in my mind the two don't go together, but at a recent quilting retreat, two out of three of the workshop leaders used glue. The first, for EPP, used the fabric glue you have purchased. The second, for machine quilting, used an ordinary glue stick you'd use for paper. No point going to the workshops if I didn't try the suggestions. I still much prefer to hand baste. I'm still slow with the glue... LOL!!! Congrats on the nomination and a beautiful quilt.
Congrats on the nomination!!
You won a IG giveaway already!! I don't enter all of the ones that come up but would nice to win one for once! haha
really have to get onto IG. Love all your purchases. I tried to vote in the quilt festival but I couldn't work out how to do it, tried a few times. Really hope you don't need just 1 vote to win Lucy,
Isn't funny how things just fall into the cart?! :) I love your recent purchases, can't wait to see what they end up being used for. Off to check out those giveaways, thanks for the heads up!
Stuff falling into my basket is why I am staying out of quilt shops and joining the Pink Castle stash club and the Cotton + Steel club. I had a day off last Tuesday and decided to check out a quilt store in a nearby town. It just so happened they were having $2 Tuesday fat quarters. Did I need anything? Not really. I walked out with 65 fat quarters! I need a keeper. : )
I voted for your quilt. How could I not? It's amaze-balls!
Oh the feather quilt turned out so beautifully!! And I am so on the fence about the C+S club. I SOOO want to join but I haven't been sewing at all and shouldn't really sign up for new fabric to come to the house when I'm not using it. So I need to just get sign up for it and then get sewing right??
