So far it's been one of those weeks where the sewing is going well and I'm getting things done. They may only be small things but it still feels really good. I'm really enthusiastic about my projects at the moment... let's face it that doesn't always happen, so I'm jumping on every chance to sew that I get.
I finished the three flower applique blocks I needed for Joan's quilt and I am so pleased I tried needle turn applique because I love it and will definitely try more patterns.

I also got my Bee A Brit Stingy blocks done for Emily. I know this will make a gorgeous quilt and I've come across so many beautiful versions of this classic while reading vintage quilt books.
Today I've been working on my le challenge project - there's a couple of days left to make a project inspired by the theme of the Rising Sun, then link up on the 15th for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop. I'm really excited to see what everyone comes up with for this one!
You may have heard that the uber talented Rachael of Imagine Gnats has started an indiegogo campaign to raise funds so she can release her brilliant patterns on real life paper! This will be a great way for Rachael to expand her business and reach more sewers.
She currently has five PDF patterns available; a little while ago I bought the Roly Poly pinafore pattern so I can tell you that they are extremely thorough, clear and simple to follow patterns. Ok I only got as far as printing out the pattern before quilting distracted me but I intend to focus and get two made for my girls to wear this summer and I know even a novice like me can do that!

I've got my project done! That's right--I remembered. I made a digital print this time to go on the gallery wall I'm going to get around to one of these days... Oh, and I guess if I were to win I'd take the Bess top happily. :)
