The baby is 13 months old now and her hair is starting to grow, it's still silky baby soft and super strokable:
Fred had a smart haircut before school started again this week:
Partly he needed it because he was starting to look very 70s surfer dude but mostly he needed it because during the holidays he decided to cut his hair. Chunks off the front and back. Lucky that it was long and a quick cut made it all better...
his sister however has to walk around with a chunk missing out of the front of her hair (look closely, the middle of her fringe has a short tufty bit where her brother played hairdresser):
I'm trying to brush the longer bits to the side to cover it.
That'll teach me not to go and make lunch while they are 'crafting'!

Love the DIY haircut look! Just before the Christmas holidays our 4 yr old grandaughter was at the 'cut and stick' table at school, the kids decided to play hairdressers and 'G' chopped a huge lump out of another little girls fringe - much like your daughters. The cut and stick table is a misnomer - you can cut hair but it doesnt stick back!
Lol, hairstyling by kids is always amusing (when they're not your own ;o) )
They all cut their hair at least once. Or, in the case of my Helen, twice. I think it is a rite of passage or something. Put the scissors up high!
We often get hairstylists emerging at school when the scissors are out. OOOPS!
Oh yes, they ALL cut their hair. I did it, and I'll bet you did it too, right? My own girls did it, and one of them three times! Her hair just kept getting shorter and shorter, and in the end she had a pixie cut which actually looked great on her! And I got the bad mom award for not putting the scissors away after the first time... though actually I DID put them away, but somehow there was more than just one pair.
Just stopping in from Really Random Thursday and had to commisserate! :-)
Goodness, they are all so cute! I love the haircut story! I think most kids end up doing it at some point, though I think Fred should get bonus points for cutting his sister's hair too! ;)
Why is hair cutting so exciting at that age? I'm sure it won't be the last time you have to deal with it :-)
I was always afraid one of my kids would whack their hair off. They never did. Smart looking kids you've got : )
Sod's Law - one of your kids will use the scissors for something they shouldn't. Someone in my household (resident or guest?? still don't know) cut into a quilt I was making - at least hair grows back!
a right of passage for kids, even worse, I tried to economise once and trim the boys fringes' how hard can it be I thought? And even even worse, I once tried to trim my own fringe - cue a pixie cut
hahahahaha! Poor girl! My middle one decided (at the age of three) that she wanted to have hair "like a baby" so she chopped the front of her hair off (which had never been cut) to about 3 cm long. It took a VERY long time to grow out!
Hhahaha! Love it! So far we've managed to avoid the DIY haircut.
They are all so adorable! And I've just seen your feathers quilt. It's amazing. Congrats on the finish :)
Oh dear!
When I was a kid I decided to cut bangs for picture day, soaked my hair wet, stretched it as long as it could go (it's naturally a little curly) and then trimmed it to the length I wanted it. And as soon as it dried, it sprung up about a half inch below my hair line. That was awesome. (I didn't tell my mom, though - I wore hairbands forever after that to hide it.) (The school pictures are awful.)
Eloise is 9 and she still has a chunk missing from her fringe!!
Ahahah! I cut my hair when I was little, not my best look to be fair. Decided that Baby MiH will not have a haircut until he is 18 at the minimum...
