I finished my woodland sampler. I learnt a lot during this year of stitching my first cross stitch project, mainly that I love cross stitch!
Another check off my FAL list, although I was hoping to have it framed I just don't have the money and my efforts of creating a DIY cardboard frame are best forgotten. It will lay around until I have the funds to frame it properly.
I suspect this is the last finish off my list but there's still a few days until the link closes so I may be able to sneak one more in... possibly... actually I've been feeling a bit lazy since the chaos of Christmas, so I doubt it!
Happy New Year's Eve! Have a fun and safe one :)

totally love your finished sampler, mine is still mid november
it's so cute!
Your sampler looks great. I got as far as January….oops!
have a great New Year .. solids block going in the post to-day x
Have you tried a charity shop to find a cheap frame? Maybe something you could paint a pretty colour? Or just make into a little quilt with fabric backing and frame?
Pound shops often have cheap frames if your are DIY, if not it cost about 80 or so to get mu big one framed
It's fabulous!!
Aww, it looks fab! I know what you mean about the framing, it is a little eye-watering to get custom sized ones
It is fabulous Lucy!
Looks great, well done for finishing it in the relevant year! Have a fab New Year, see you on the other side :o)
oh this is so darling, and I'm so impressed you got it done! I am months and months behind....
This is so beautiful, Lucy! Maybe a goal for me would be to learn cross stitch in 2014!
It's beautiful! I really enjoyed watching your progress on it - well done!
This is so lovely - and good for you to get it done this year too! I have lots of cross stitch UFOs too and am starting to think pillows and quilted wall hangings vs. framing them. Except for the really special ones that should be protected under glass I suppose. Hard call!
looks gorgeous, Lucy. Makes me want to pick up my sampler and give it a go again - I've only gotten to March so far :(
It look brilliant finished! I'm still midway through December and haven't even thought about framing yet, but I bet it will be highly priced!! I'm not letting myself buy the Once Upon a TIme, until I finish this!
Oh that is too cute. I used to do cross stitch then stopped because it was too 1980s for me. But now I want to start again! Happy New Year from NZ :-)
Damn you and your cute stitchery Lucy. Now I have that and the 2014 sampler in my inbox and on my to do list! :-)
Love it! I have to admit that I never even started. :( But I went ahead and bought 2014's Once Upon a Time anyway. I'll get them both done eventually. Happy New Year friend!
That is very sweet!
It's beautiful, I love cross stitch but have not done any for a long time now. And you have loads of time for another finish, see how it goes. All the best to you and yours for the new year.
Happy New Year Lucy. I have loved following your blog this year - thanks for sharing your creativity and your life with us. Your honesty has been refreshing. Hope 2014 is a wonderful year for you and your family.
Beautiful, Lucy!!! I find any form of hand stitching therapeutic, so I'm sure I'd enjoy cross stitch, too.
Happy New Year, Ludy! Congrats on a really beautiful finish to end the year! That cross stitch has truly been a labour of love! So glad to have met you and looking forward to seeing what inspiring creations you share with us in 2014!
Well doneLucy, it looks amazing
V impressive that you finished it in 2014! Happy New Year!
I think I meant 2013...
cross stitch is a passion for me and framing is so expensive, sharing a blog with you to show there is more to do with it. Also I think this would make a cute shadow box piece, thats what I love to do with mine. http://cazwa.blogspot.com/2013/12/last-day-of-2013.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+StitchesByCarin+%28Stitches+by+Carin%29
So awesome, and great that you kept up with it throughout the year, I bet not many people managed that!
So cute Lu! Great to see this finished. Each month is so freakin adorable! Love!! x
