How is it that I always feel like I never have enough time to sew all the things I want to and then, rather than finish the things I've started, I go ahead and start something new?! bonkers. Even more bonkers is that fact I'm sure I've said that before ;) The quilter's curse of beginning projects!
So here's what I'm up to...
I loved making the last rainbow log cabin quilt, so I'm at it again:
I finished embroidering the alphabet panel and got it all cut up and sewn into blocks - I think it's going to look so pretty! Just need to press and trim these:
And I've nearly finished my latest rose star block:
I intended to do a full on WIP report this week but it's half term so I'm impressed with what sewing I've done and I want to get on with it not talk about it!
Today we spent the day with friends carving our pumpkins. She wanted happy and he wanted scary:
We even all managed to have lunch and do the pumpkins while Lois napped. Baby and pumpkins might not have worked so well!
We moved Lois into her own room yesterday (I say we but actually my husband was the one building the cot bed, clearing, putting up a new curtain rail, etc.). And she slept right through from 8pm until 6am this morning! I couldn't believe it. I also cried last night knowing I wouldn't be sleeping next to her (as I have for the past 9 months) but that was probably the exhaustion taking over ;) It is a little sad but I will accept that phase is over if I get more sleep as a result... although as many of you mums may know, she slept through the night but I didn't. Getting back into a good sleep routine will take time for me.

haha well rules are meant to be broken! I said I would finish all my wip, before starting something new...and you know how long that lasted!!
Great work Lucy! I can imagine it must be hard to move on and have Lois in her own room, but it'll be worth it when you find yourself better rested too :-) x

Oh you, I too keep stating things even when my wip overwhelms me, infact I think that's why I start something new! And the sleeping thing, I'm so with you, I kept Jools with me for almost a year and still miss her, she had to spend the night in my bed last night because she was poorly and I relished the little cuddles!
Oh dear - you'll just have to have another baby then! You're not alone in the starting new things ....I have more now than at the start of the year!
I hear you. Whenever my baby doesn't wake up I still do. She has me trained. :) So many projects, so little time. :)
Hey, it looks like you are making great progress, especially with all that hand work. Your projects are all very pretty, but I really love the embroidered letter blocks! Sweet dreams!
Oh You crack me up! My favorite line was "I want to get on with it not talk about it!" I think it is actually okay to start new projects as I think it infuses creativity and life into the processes of the other projects...that's my story and I am sticking to it! I can't wait to see the pretty blocks, keep up the good work.
Log cabins are entirely addictive! Boy, you are just clipping along on your projects...! Good for you.
loving the feathers (and I spy my block!!). Pumpkins look great. And you will sleep again, I promise! Did you do that thing where you wake up every hour to make sure they are alive? I was a nightmare for that!

Our babies grow way too quickly. My baby girl turned 14 today. Seems like only yesterday she was a tiny little baby.
Pfft I'm always starting something new before I finish the previous item. There's no rules are there? I think I know why. My favourite part of the process is the planning and the fabric selection and the colour choices, the early bits. I just wanna do more and more of those parts! We didn't have our babies in our rooms, probably because I couldn't sleep with all their noises or lack of noise wondering if they were breathing, and them putting up with us snoring. Everyone slept best with baby in their own room! Of course they did come in bed between us if they wouldn't settle in their own cot. We have just got Elijah (nearly 5!) into the routine of not crawling up between us when he wakes during the night. At least when he does, he goes straight to sleep and we hardly know he's there.
