Little 1.5" squares, take that!! Fourth attempt at this block and it's not so shabby, not perfect but that's as good as I can get and I'm happy! I hope Kerry will like it!
I'm still hand quilting for Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting (all these lovely fabrics and perle thread are available in her shop!), just one flower left to do and some blue stitching on the edges and then on to binding:
I'm also working on a new project - a tie for my son to wear at my sister's wedding at the end of the month. I wasn't sure what fabric to use but I won this Kona Modern Quilts bundle from Marmalade Fabrics and I decided to be brave and steal this one out of the bundle since I think it would make a really cute tie!

The projects are looking great. Love the drunkard's path quilt, the little russian dolls are adorable. And I think you're right, that fabric will make an awesome tie for a little boy.
I am impressed you made something with 1.5 inch squares... it is quite an achievement and it is such a great block. Nice work.
Yay! 4th time lucky ;-)
I wouldn't even attempt this, my precicion is not the best!
Still loving your drunk dolls quilt - did Cindy mention that it's to be sent to me? No? Oh well that's what she said. Honest!
Best theme yet! Makes me think of anchors and billowing sails and swarthy pirates!
Well done Lucy so glad your perseverance paid off. Sarah x
isnt it always the "simple" looking blocks that cause the most problems xx
loving the hand quilting!
Thank god for the block coming out in the end! Damnit, I have a nautical think I want to work on that I came up with during my loft incarceration, but I ended up having to order fabric from the US after the only place that had it here turned out to be sold out, don't know if it'll be here in time :'(
That quilt is going to be amazing! Love the idea of sewing a tie!
Your face is divine too dahling - show it - don't crop it!
Well done on finishing the block, it looks easy but precision is paramount. Maritime, Hmm.
From the air to the sea for this months challenge? Now I just need to remember that it runs from 15th -15th, not 1st of the month to the 1st of the following month! Duh! 4 attempts at the solid little 1 1-2 " blocks!!! That's persistence!
amazing hand quilting - I really really want to learn that since it adds such a special detail.
Love your block for Kerry, I just need to do the final piecing on mine, fingers crossed it goes together well! Love the hand stitching, it adds such stunning texture :o)
That will be an adorable tie! I was Diva of Honour at my sister's wedding. ;) Have a great time!
Still loving that quilt!!!
Well done! Everything seems to be coming along nicely.
I absolutely love the Matryoshka quilt! You are doing a beautiful job
Fabulous projects!
Yay! You got those little coloured squares to play nice. I love your retro flowers quilt for Cindy! It's so pretty.
oh my goodness it's more and more beautiful every day.
Totally misread the title there *blushes*! Love the block and the DP quilt is looking amazing.
Your 1.5 inch block looks great! I always end up with major crooked blocks when I sew small pieces like that.
The quilt for Cindy is phenomenal! Love the colors and stitching. Well done, you!
A tie in that fabric would be adorable! Can't wait to see your dress!
God I'd rather show my face than my body any day, no matter how pretty the dress! Can't wait to see it. Please show your face too!
Ooh lovely lovely flowers!!! where do you get time to handquilt with a bub in the house?!!!!
I adore that dp quilt and the little squares are lovely but that block looks very fiddly to make :)
Ooh, love the tie fabric!!And I want to see this matron of honour dress too now--don't hold out on us. Good for you on finishing up the block--sometimes those little squares are maddengly frustrating aren't they?
