That actually pretty sweet and considerate. Should bring him some cookies. :) could have gone another way .... Like one of my favorite giggle blogs ... Passiveaggresivenotes.com.
I think that is such a sweet note, looks like you have a considerate neighbour after all. Unless hes just lulling you into a false sense of security and is really planning a noisy party...
Thanks goodness for that! I used to live next to neighbour who swore at the top of their voices at all hours, and I was never brave enough to do what you did. I used to bang on the wall with a slipper!
Sounds like a nice guy. I was going to suggest a plate of home baked cookies too. :D Assuming he really is quiet in the future, never hurts to positively re-enforce good behavior with home baked goodness. :D
At least they admit there is a problem. My neighbours have for years insisted on banging wardrobe doors when the come in late at night or very early in the morning. They are built in and heavy ones and you can even hear them raking the coat hangers along the rails. When I've mentioned it to them they've always maintained they don't go to their wardrobes late at night...but they are the same neighbours that decided to have a midlife crisis and buy a drum kit...
Oh yay. I was so worried about a response, but proud of you for confronting it. I'm always scared of confrontation and would have stewed on it for days. So glad you got the response you wanted/needed. :)
What a great neighbour:) I live next to the neighbours from hell who extended an outdoor deck which now looks into my dinning/ lounge area. What joy - not.
Awesome. Sounds like the best case scenario - glad it went that way and hopefully it fixes everything. If so, you may have to invite him for dinner some night. :-)
Aw how sweet. Much better than a brick through your window in reply....hope you get some peaceful nights soon (I hope baby is listening to me. ;-) haha)

That's nice, and yeah to post midnight quiet time!
Harmony rules! I hope!
Fab! I think you were very brave to post the first note! I just sit and mumble cross things through the walls at my noisy neighbours!
How funny!! If he knew he was such a boomer, you'd of thought he would have learnt to keep his mouth shut by now!
Oh, I am so glad you got such a positive response!
Phew! Glad its gone okay :-)
Yah! Phew!
Do you live next door to Brian Blessed?! His younger brother?!
I am very relieved!

Lol, well glad he's got with the program, as they say :oD
Yay! Could you ask him if 10pm is negotiable over midnight? Or is that pushing your luck?
Time for that coffee/beer on the steps.
I think that's a great response. Shows what a friendly letter can do :)
What a great response, yay!

Bless..!
What an awesome neighbor you have. I was wondering what kind of response you'd get -where I live I'd expect something snarky. :)
Bake a cake and have him in for a cuppa. He is obviously a good sort! Di x
haha - that's funny. Seems like a decent neighbour to have - at least understanding, and hopefully will follow through with it!

Haha that is great and so much better than a firework or even more noise!
lol what a great neighbor - he definitely deserves a yummy treat!
Ha ha, that's a nice reply. At least he isn't going to be a problem neighbour
Sounds like he's a good neighbor and just needed a reminder. May you sleep well tonight.

That's nice for him to write back. And Hadley, my Dads a boomer and he knows and is not quiet for anyone or thing! Stubborn farmer much?!
Awww, what a sweet note. And yay for adorable UK flavored colloquial contractions :-D
