since my neighbours woke me and Lois up at around 3am this morning I posted this note through their door on the way to school. Thankfully she settled quickly and woke up at 7.30am but I couldn't sleep!
So despite my bleary state, here's some WIPs:

Ooo you poor thing, I know that sleep deprived feeling. What should I do then about our neighbours who have a 2 yr old which has been waking me at 2.30am with his screaming? It's doing my head in!

Ooh I hope that goes down OK, I am often tempted to write passive-aggressive notes but find nothing good ever comes of it. Hopefully you will have understanding neighbours. We once had one through our door about our car blocking our neighbour's drive all weekend. We were away and it wasn't anything to do with us. We knocked on the door and made sure she knew but I didn't like how she was accusing us so I can see why people get mad when the boot is on the other foot. Good luck!

I feel your pain. Last night my neighbors dog wouldn't stop barking! It woke us out of a sound sleep. Ugh!!! Here's to having sweet dreams tonight. xo

I hope they understand and make an effort. I feel for you. Constant exhaustion is debilitating.
That is a tough one. I hope it works out for you, it is often hard to accommodate everyone's schedules and needs for quiet.

Tactfully worded and tempered with the smiley face when I'm sure you wanted to use other words and a different tone at 3am! I hope it works out for you. I usually find that a note helps for a few days and then the noise will gradually go up again. If they're really young, they may not get it at all. On the other hand, they may have had no idea, and be complete angels now that they're aware. Regardless, you now have a record of your "communication" with them if it ever gets worse.

Oh, forgot to add! Look into a white noise machine or a tiny fan - it may drown out noises from outside your place and help both you and the babe get a little more shut-eye...
I think the note is perfect Lucy. I live mid terrace and the walls are like paper. Thankfully my neighbours are not too bad, but it's still noisey. I hope you get some better sleep

Oh, bless you! Sometimes folk just do not realise how noise carries! My OH grew up in the middle of nowhere, and despite my telling him- repeatedly! he thought it was fine to demolish a kitchen at half past midnight! Luckily our neighbours forgave us! Now we are in a detached house, and he doesn't think of demolishing anything- even when it needs it! Grr!
My husband has just switched from an over night schedule to an afternoon schedule and daughter and I are still trying to adjust. Unfortunately no matter how quiet we are while he is trying to sleep we still manage to wake him up since he is not used to sleeping when he should be sleeping and so every little noise wakes him. Hope your neighbors will be more considerate and that you can get some rest!

Difficult isn't it as you have to 'live with ' your neighbours as well. Hope you start getting more sleep soon
Oh you poor thing! Wish my neighbours would shush if I wrote them a note! But alas they are of the frog species and shush for no one... It has tempted me to get a slug gun I tell you.

How did it go with the neighbours? Do you have a shared wall/live in a row of houses sort of thing? I'd hate my neighbours to hear me bellowing at the kids all the time!
