that I've accomplished anything with all my ill children (who are doing better now). I have finally managed to finish a couple of bee blocks that I have been working on for two weeks! Seriously. They aren't hard at all but there were many interruptions to my sewing, I have been cross stitching and I had to finish the May quilt top, which is done but I can't show it yet!
So first up I made these two summer inspired blocks for Jan in Bee A Brit Stingy, using this tutorial:
And this one for Debra in Scrappy? Sew Bee It!, using this tutorial (I added a couple of sails!)

I really like both of these quilts and it makes me long for a Summer holiday! It seems to be a theme because these gorgeous Glamping fabrics just arrived from Charise after I won her giveaway:
I already have a plan for some of them. If it works I will have one very happy daughter.
I am kind of feeling bad that I'm separating the fabrics. Does anyone else feel oddly guilty when they take fabrics from a collection rather than using them together?? I like mixing it up but then I think the designers have gone to all that trouble of coordinating a line... oh well. I shall just do as I please, better to make something I love!

Nice bee blocks. The Tennessee ones take a lot of time so don't be hard on yourself. The glamping fabric is just so cheerful and bright. I look forward to seeing how you mix them up and what you make with them. Di x
The blocks are lovely and so are the fabrics. I sometimes have trouble separating a line because they just go together so well, but mixing them is often more interesting and effective.

Those little caravans are adorable! I love mixing up prints from different lines. I actually prefer it to using only fabrics from a single collection in a project.

Oh fab blocks, beautiful fabrics, and i totally get it about the fabric lines, i have a few i want to use but feel bad about splitting them up, as if they'll notice! :o)

Great blocks! That adorable sailboat is making me antsy for summer! Breaking up fabric lines makes me feel guilty too. I have to break up the bundles and store them by color for a few days, before I can get used to the idea :D.
Yes I feel the same way, I'm probably going to do the same with my Timber and Leaf FQ pack, I thought I might make a quilt from them together but the urge to use them in smaller projects now is too strong!

Don't tell anyone, but I think highly coordinated fabric lines are very overrated! I nearly always break them up to make my own combinations! It's much more fun that way! Your bee blocks are great!

Great blocks - and I am loathed to separate collections - I have an OCD need to make something with the whole lot, then once there are 'scraps' I can happily separate them. Yep I am a mental!
Your blocks are lovely - so Summery! I think it's nicer to separate fabric lines. Much more satisfying to make something with an original fabric combination :)
I'm always astounded by the amount of things you get done with three little ones...

Well really, don't they know you have things to do rather than tend their fevered brows? Most inconvenient... And god no, absolutely no guilt about separating stuff, I even don't buy whole lines *gasp*

Love your blocks! I almost always split collections too, I sometimes feel I haven't had a proper input to the quilt if I don't, and I rarely like every single print in a collection.
I LOVE the bee blocks. Especially the one's for me :-) As for splitting collections. I go both ways. I use whole collections (or as much of them as I have.) But most times I get more fun from splitting them up and mixing and matching.
