Welcome to the TGIFF party! I am hosting the linky this week I can't wait to see what everyone has finished :)
I am thrilled to have finished some gifts for my dear friend's baby boy who was born last week!
Obviously I had to make a quilt and I used this lovely 'Windy Days Quilt' pattern. It came together easily but I was stumped how to quilt it until I saw Judith's beautiful vintage quilt and decided to do the same. I knew my friend wanted simple, she's far more sophisticated than me, so I wanted to go for something modern but classic; sweet but not too baby. I think the overall low volume works really well for her taste. I used Kona Snow for the background so it stayed warm and neutral.
I originally bought the fabric for this quilt not knowing the gender so went with the gorgeous Bunny Hill Designs fabric. I used a layer cake of Windsor Lane in green (not all of it so you may see some crop up again!) and the backing and binding fabrics are from the Puttin On The Ritz collection. I added an embroidered label.
I adore these prints and love the grey binding.
This is also a finish checked off my list for this quarter's Finish-A-Long at Quilter in the Gap.
In addition to the quilt I made a couple of bibs using this Clover and Violet tutorial for the small one and this tutorial by Kim for the larger one.
Last night I went for a visit and gave the gifts to the happy new parents and they were thrilled. I was delighted to get to have gorgeous cuddles with the little baby boy, I'd forgotten how tiny newborns are! He is utterly darling and such a content baby. He slept in my arms for a little while and I had such a thrill thinking of having my own in the new year. So precious.
So now it's over to you... any finishes this week?

What an adorable bebe quilt!! I love it for the reasons you mentioned....modern but classic. Cute, cute bibs, too!
So sweet Lucy! No finishes for me this week, but have fun hosting.
You rock, Lucy! Your friends are very lucky to get such beautiful gifts. Thanks so much for hosting (and for remembering when I forgot!). :)
Love it Lu! So funny, I'm making a girl quilt using Windsor Lane at the moment - and I'm using the pink version of that script for the back :o) Great minds?
Cute bibs! I used the same tutorial by Kim and I just LOVE the bibs! I wish my daughter would stay little forever so she could leave them on during dinner and not rip them off now that she's almost 2. I also made two batches of the same bibs for a friend who had a boy and a friend who had a girl. It was fun making them! Thanks for hosting TGIFF.
Oooh sounds like your are nesting already! Nothing finished, nothing started, nothing done! Hopefully I will have a productive weekend!
Love the quilt! Very elegant and pretty. The bibs are adorable!
what lovely gifts. I am sure they will treasure that beautiful quilt!
Love the bibs - they are just the cutest! The quilt is chic and the wee boy will have years of fun with it making dens all over the house when he grows a bit - that is if his mum doesn't nab it first!
The bibs are so cute! I bet that little boy is going to spend many happy hours lying on/playing with his lovely quilt!
Oh, what pretty pinwheels! Very nice!
What a sweet baby quilt. And very cute bibs.
gosh it isn't long and you will have your own little bundle! Lovely baby makes
Lovely quilt. I love how soft it looks.
I love how the quilt turned out. It looks so soft and snuggly... perfect for a baby! :)
I just pinned the Windy Days pattern after admiring it on another blog yesterday... and yours makes me love it even more! Adorable.
Oh I love those bibs! I've made the same shape, loved them. I linked up! :)
A very sweet quilt! It sounds perfect for how you've described your friend. Love the gray binding for it. :)
Fun pinwheel quilt! and those cute bibs, well done!
Such a great quilt and those bibs are so fun!
Lovely quilt x
Those bibs are the cutest! I like that the quilt is not typical 'baby' and really elegant.
I'm all linked up now....had to work it out after being such a dumb a** with the word verification button lol
Hugs
Naomi
Love the baby quilt, and the bibs... Need to make some of those, thanks for linking to the tutorials!
This is a gorgeous baby quilt. I've never seen windsor lane before. It's such a sweet nursery fabric :)
