I was starting to feel a bit swamped... not in a bad way but felt like I had a million projects on the go (I did and still do)... some of them are finished or nearing completion so I feel more in control of my work in progress this week.
completed:
- Tetris Picnic Blanket
- Sailor Mouth swap goodies but I'm not going to show you until my secret partner has received them. Here's a peek ;)
ongoing:
- Scrappy? Sew Bee It! block for Carla, using this tutorial
- Retro Flower QAL - whoop whoop! One more block done, that's 4 all together and that's one row! Considering I enjoy sewing curves and I adore the fabrics I'm using I can't believe it's taking so long, although I know it's for us to use so there's no urgency. I bet loads of us do that, push things aside we're making for ourselves. It also requires pinning (not the website, actual pins in the blocks, something I try to avoid a lot of!!) ;)
- Rose Stars - I've already blogged about this one that I made this week and there's another one underway
no progress:
- Vintage Holiday QAL
- How Far Will You Go? QAL
not worried, I'll catch up this week :)

oooh, good luck with the scan xx
Great looking blocks Lucy! The Tetris Quilt is so colorful. Love it!
Ooh some great blocks! Love the Retro Flower block - it looks awesome! Loving the colours in your Bee block too.
Hope the scan goes well!
Love your retro flower! They sure do take a lot of pinning (those naughty seams wriggle around a bit too I find).
Lovely blocks :-) Your rose stars is really going to be a beauty, I cant wait for you to put it together!
Perfect fabric choice for your Retro Flower! Best wishes for your scan!
Very nice WIPs! I like your stats lol-good idea!
I can't believe how much you get done! I really don't have any excuse! I can't wait to see your Rose Stars all together...it will be lovely.
Oh I know that swamped feeling! The good news is, you don't actually have to pin the curves, it's a cinch to do it pin free, all you need is a pair of tweezers, and Leanne, from She Can Quilt's tute (sorry, at work so can't grab the pinterest link for you here)
Gorgeous WIPs and finishes! I'm glad the first day of YR went well - does he realise he has to go back tomorrow?!! Good luck with the scan xx
so glad little man was fine!! love your rose star, your retro flower ( I know exactly what you mean about making it for yourself), the picnic blanket is gorgeous too! hope all goes well with the scan! xxxxx
Hi Lucy. I recognized that block when I saw it over at Freshly Pieced. Yay!! It's lovely.
You're so on top of everything! And rockin' those flower curves. I need to try and catch up to you ;)
All your blocks are so lovely! And your block for Carla is perfect! I'm going to get on top of that one today.
You are doing great, you can count all your projects on your hands. Even with my toes included, I still can't count them all. Need more time in a day to get things finished.
Alright, it's settled. I have a long term goal for next summer to have a picnic blanket. I just love this idea and have seen them here or there but didn't have it in me this summer - the key is to think about it during the winter for me, I think!
Glad to hear that life is treating you well! xo
Lovely!
I am so feeling the Retro Flower pain!
Having made two retro flowers for Katy I have to say - I love them but the trimming is a right pain!
